Gasket Sheet Materials

Gaskets are normally cut from a flat sheet material such as paper, rubber, silicone, cork, compressed sheet, neoprene, nitrile rubber, fiberglass, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) among many others.

Gaskets are cut to size with or without bolt holes in various thickness and materials - whatever is suitable to the media, temperature, and pressures of the application – all of which factors into material selection.

JBSC stocks hundreds of grades of gasket materials – solid, closed cell, and open-cell rubbers, non-asbestos compressed fiber, food-grade materials, PTFE, EPDM, FKM, cork and cork blends, natural gum rubber, and many more. Our experienced application and production specialists will be glad to assist you in the selection of the best material for your application.

We can custom cut any type of gasket – tell us what kind of custom gasket you need.

Carbon Fiber Sheet

Compress AFC CNA gasket material NSF Certified ANSI 61

Asbestos Free Compress Sheet is a general service, compressed non-asbestos gasket material with many applications in process industries, water, and wastewater industry. Used in general industry, water treatment, oil and gas production, food processing, pipe flange gaskets and boiler gaskets. It is rated for temperatures up to 500°F / 260°C. It is also commonly used in equipment such as valves and pumps.

This material is also known as: AFC - Asbestos Free Compressed | CNA - Compressed Non-Asbestos | CAF - Compressed Asbestos Free.  Certified to NSF/ANSI 61

Construction: Aramid fibers with nitrile binder.

Suitable for use with the following:

  • Air
  • Aliphatic Solvents
  • Animal Oils
  • Brine
  • Diluted Alkalis
  • General Chemicals
  • Industrial Gases

EXPANDED PTFE SHEET

EXPANDED PTFE SHEET

EXPANDED PTFE SHEET

Pure expanded PTFE gasket material

100% pure expanded PTFE sheet has a microporous fibrous structure unique mechanical property. Widely used for sealing flange joints in pipelines as well as hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Pure, multidirectionally expanded PTFE, asbestos free, chemically resistant to fluids from 0 to 14 in the pH range.

Color: White Temp Range: -450°F to +600°F | -265°C to +315°C

  • Excellent sealability
  • Cuts easily
  • Separates cleanly from flanges after use
  • Very low compressive creep
  • Conforms to irregular surfaces
  • Used in petrochemical, food and pharmaceutical

Virgin PTFE

Graphite Sheet

Virgin PTFE

Virgin PTFE gasket material non-stick

Non-stick, non-porous, non-absorbent, will not retain odors, non-stick PTFE. Used as a top for work benches, industrial gaskets, wear surfaces, drainboards, sinks and shelf liners. Excellent chemical / electrical resistance. Low coefficient of friction and anti-stick characteristics make it an ideal choice for bearings, seals, piston rings and other mechanical applications. Excellent thermal and electrical insulation properties.

Color: White Temp Range: to  +500°F  | to 260°C Finish: Smooth Durometer: 55 ±5

  • Non-stick PTFE
  • Coefficient of Friction (STATIC) @ 73°F (ASTM Method 3) = .04
  • Electrical and chemical  industries
